http://www.kathleenkeifer.com When I was five I went to the Chicago Art Institute. I still remember entering that room with Monet's haystacks. It was the light, just the light, that was making them look so different. I realized that every single thing I saw was really five or ten or however many different things, all depending on what time of day and year it was as I looked at them. Part of me still thinks you need to paint something dozens of times, in all different lights and moods, before you understand it.
