An Intro To Wine
http://www.amawaterways.com/infographics/news.aspx?article=6c7bef8d-60e6-4ad4-9849-728a365f68e8 | The story of wine is deeply interwoven in the story of human history. Since before 4100 B.C., when the earliest evidence of a winery is found in Armenia, to its arrival in the New World when Spanish conquistadors landed, to the globalization of wine due to travel and media, wine has spread throughout the world. It is produced on every continent except Antarctica, and has grown into an industry that some estimate is worth nearly $100 billion. There are many different types of wine. This variety comes from the kind of grape used and the method of production. Below we will introduce six of the most popular: merlot, cabernet sauvignon, pinot noir, shiraz or syrah, chardonnay, and sauvignon blanc. Having a basic understanding of the differences between each type, and what each tastes like, will give you a foot in the door of the amazingly complex world of wine.
