image-dna: Jeweled Palette Jeweled Palette I found a vintage post card I liked and took colors from it in Photoshop. I created stacked rows of colored squares using the photoshop square brush set. Then I duplicated the layer. The duplicated layer is on top. I pulled that layer up diagonally. Then set it to "multiply". That is how you get two perfectly matched dark and light colors. image-dna: Pastel Mix Pastel Mix I painted this flower in Photoshop with colors derived from my Pencil Sketch palette. http://colrd.com/image-dna/29794/ It is a completely neutral palette, but I extracted colors using Photoshop layers. First I screen printed the palette and cut out a rectangular strip that included all the colors. Then I layered duplicate copies and changed all but the bottom layer to something like hard mix, overlay, difference, etc. I moved them around over each other until new colors would appear where they overlapped. When picking a color, you can make it brighter to get highlights. That is how I got the yellow highlights for this painting. July 17th 2013
